SATELLITE (Science and Technology Enriching Lifelong Leadership in Tomorrow's Endeavors) program is a five-day STEM outreach and leadership development program hosted at NC State for high school sophomores from rural and underserved communities in North Carolina. Students who attend SATELLITE participate in interactive labs, engaging conversations, and team building activities led by NC State faculty and undergraduate students. These activities are designed to generate interest in STEM fields, but also to educate and encourage students to think about a post-secondary education. Please keep reading for more details!

This year we are accepting 54 students from across North Carolina and we believe its going to be our best year yet! Because of our program's goals, we do not consider academic success while reviewing applicants. Rather, we are seeking students with the ability to maximize this experience; students who will really take advantage of the resources they will be exposed to while at NC State.

Our program this year runs from May 13th to 17th. Fortunately, these dates do not conflict with AP exams. The application requires two short letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and several short answer questions. The deadline to submit this application is March 10th at 11:45pm. Students will be notified of their admission status on April 1st. The program costs $30 to attend, but need based scholarships are available. For more detailed information you can visit our website: https://clubs.ncsu.edu/satellite/ and the application can be found here: https://thesciencehouse.wufoo.com/forms/zn4r9fk1cgahjm/.
