Athletics is a source of pride for Burke County Public Schools. BCPS believes that students can benefit from involvement in athletics and that as a school system we should provide opportunities for students to be involved in positive, extra-curricular activities.

The district offers 7 sports at the middle school level and 15 for high school students.  Athletic programs in Burke County Public Schools believe in academic success in the classroom, student attendance in school and good sportsmanship while representing BCPS.  All student athletes must be in good academic standing and adhere to county and state regulations in academics and attendance.

BCPS high school teams participate in state-approved conferences by the NCHSAA.  BCPS middle school sports teams participate in the Foothills Conference. For more information on specific sports offered in our middle and high schools, contact the school principal or athletic director.
